RSE Curriculum Consultation
The Department for Education has published updated statutory guidance for schools on Relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education which comes into effect from 1st September 2026.
Our updated RSE curriculum reflects national guidance and is designed to support students’ wellbeing, safety and preparation for life in modern Britain. Our aim is to provide learning that is age-appropriate, respectful and inclusive, helping our students to develop positive relationships, understand boundaries, and make informed, responsible choices.
Ms Wood, our Head of PSHCE, has prepared a video presentation that explains the curriculum content that is taught to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7-11) in line with the new guidance. You can watch the presentation below.
We are also launching our new ‘Thrive’ curriculum, encompassing our personal development curriculum, assemblies, PSHCE lessons, tutor time activities and much more. This aligns with our school and curriculum vision to enable everyone to thrive academically, personally and socially; as well as our commitment to educating the whole child.
We value the important role that parents and carers play in supporting their child’s development, and we are committed to working in partnership with you. As part of our consultation, we want you to feel informed and confident about what is being taught and welcome your views and feedback to inform both the development and delivery of our curriculum. You may provide feedback on the new curriculum via the form below, which will be open until Friday 10th July 2026.
