Welcome from our Head Prefects

My name is Frankie and I study Maths, Sociology and Photography. I chose this eclectic mix of subjects because I enjoyed them and felt they enabled me to showcase a diverse range of skills including essay writing, solving complex mathematical problems and creating tactile and digital pieces of work. I would like to pursue a career in Law and these subjects provide me with a solid and broad foundation.  

I have been a student at LPGS since Year 7 and thoroughly enjoyed my experience, hence why I chose to stay on for Sixth Form. Throughout I have felt supported and encouraged. LPGS focuses on six main values but the one that I have found the most important throughout my time here is belonging, I didn’t know anyone when joining the school during Lockdown in 2020, however, I have had the opportunity to take part in so many aspects of school life such as trips abroad, school musicals and DofE. I have also forged so many wonderful friendships. 

Belonging set in very quickly when joining in Year 7 but it has become even more prominent during my transition to the Sixth Form. We are treated like young adults and receive immense support from our Sixth Form team and teachers in general. Our fantastic careers team assist us in finding work experience through one-on-one meetings and our school hosts its own Careers Fair ,where students get the opportunity to meet with employers from various fields. As a school, we also promote student leadership through our school council, Year 12 Prefect Team and Senior Prefect Team.  

Outside of my academic studies, I pursue various activities both in and outside of school. For years I was part of the school choir and I currently run KS3 Maths club alongside some of my peers. LPGS has also given me the confidence to pursue other interests and give something back to the community. I am a qualified young leader at my local Brownie unit, through which I have become first aid trained.  

LPGS is a community. As a year group, the school encourages us to mix together and bond in many different ways from birthday celebrations in the Sixth Form Block to academic interventions after school. Additionally, the school actively ensures that there are meaningful interactions between different year groups such as our annual musicals, sports days and societies. I have loved my time here!

My name is Jude, and I am studying Psychology, Business and Health & Social Care. I chose these subjects because they allow me to better understand people, leadership and the decisions that shape our lives. Throughout my time at LPGS6, I have learned that success is not only measured by grades, but also by the impact we have on those around us. 

One question has always stayed with me from the movie Coach Carter: “What is your deepest fear?” It is a powerful reminder that the biggest obstacle to success is often the limits we place on ourselves. Sixth Form is a time when we are constantly challenged to step outside our comfort zones, embrace new opportunities and discover what we are truly capable of achieving. 

The LPGS6 motto, ‘Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders’, perfectly reflects the journey we are all on. Leadership is not about having a title; it is about setting an example, supporting others and helping create an environment where everyone can thrive. As Head Prefect, I want to ensure that every student feels valued, included and proud to be part of our School  community. 

One of my main goals this year is to strengthen the sense of unity across the school. Sixth Form should be about more than academics; it should also be about creating memories, building friendships and developing experiences that stay with us long after we leave. Through student-led events, charity initiatives and opportunities for wider participation, I hope to help bring students together and create a stronger sense of belonging. 

Sport has had a significant influence on my life and has taught me lessons that extend far beyond competition. It has shown me the importance of resilience, discipline, teamwork and perseverance. These are values that I believe are essential not only in education but in leadership as well. 
What makes LPGS6 truly special is its people. We are a diverse community with different backgrounds, experiences and ambitions, yet there is a genuine culture of support and encouragement. It is a place where students are inspired to challenge themselves, pursue their goals and become the best version of themselves. 

As Head Prefect, I hope to leave behind more than just events or initiatives. I want to contribute to a culture where students feel connected, supported and confident in their potential. If every student leaves LPGS feeling that they belonged, were listened to and had opportunities to grow, then that will be a legacy worth leaving.
