Greetings from Tenerife!

A lucky group of Y9 and Y10 students are enjoying themselves in Tenerife this week. Check back for daily updates.

Day 5

On Monday we went to the Teide Volcano with our partners. We had to drive for an hour and a half up into the mountains on a steep road to get near to the top. We went to the visitor’s centre and learned about the formation of Teide and then went further up to see the rock formations and to get a good view of the volcano. On the way back we had a picnic and enjoyed our last day together.

On Tuesday it was time to say our tearful goodbyes. We didn’t want to leave... Some of us are already planning our trip back! We’ve had an unforgettable experience and have made some amazing new friends. ¡Hasta luego Tenerife!

Day 4 2018

Today we went to the South of the Island to Los Cristianos where we went out on a boat to see pilot whales and dolphins. The water was quite choppy but we were lucky enough to see lots of dolphins. In the afternoon we had some free time to try and order lunch in a Spanish restaurant. Time for a the weekend with our partner families....

Day 3 2018

We spent the day in our partner school (Colegio Cisneros Alter). The school is situated in the north of Tenerife, near La Laguna and it has students from 3 to 18 years old. In the morning we did workshops with different year groups. For example, we went to the infant and primary part of the school and spoke to the children about ourselves and life in England. They had prepared some questions for us and we were amazed by their English. We also did some team building games with our partners out in the sun. We also got the chance to do a salsa/ merengue class taught by the Sixth Form students. It was a busy day but very fun and we got to see what every day life is like in a Spanish school.

Day 2 2018

Today we went to Loro Parque, which is a conservation park and zoo. We had the chance to see lots of animals, dolphin, whale and sea lion shows and learn about endangered species.

Day 1 2018 v2

We have arrived safe and sound in Tenerife, the sun is shining! We were reunited with our partners and are looking forward to the week ahead :)
