Extended Curriculum

An exciting and inclusive extended curriculum is crucial if students are to broaden their horizons and pursue indivdual interests. LPGS is fortunate to possess not only highly skilled teachers but enthusiastic student leaders who are able to contribute toward a vibrant enrichment and extra-curricular programme. The aim of our elective curriculum is to encourage students to facilitate learning across all key stages, build the essential life skills required to prepare them for the future and to encourage them to develop new passions. The programme is designed to foster curiousity, creativity and innovation and to allow students to map these to their Expert Learner attributes of Leadership, Global Citizenship, Teamwork, Determination, Problem Solving and Creativity.

Extra Curricular Activities

We have an extensive range of activities and clubs. These usually commence a few weeks after the start of the Autumn Term and are updated termly.  Many of the activities are capably delivered by our Sixth Form Prefects in addition to specialist staff.

Our extended curriculum offer is constantly updated and we encourage students to regularly visit our designated Firefly page for the most up to date details; registered users can view the activities via the link below.

Everyday activities include:

  • Computer room access – Room M211 is open after school for the serious use of computers.

  • The Library - Open throughout the day from 8.00am until 4.15pm. Homework Club takes place after school on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Library provides a welcoming environment conductive to study and reading-for-pleasure. Students can browse the wide selection of fiction and non-fiction titles and access the internet and curriculum networks. The Library also hosts a variety of events to promote reading.
