Fantastic results once again for LPGS students

GCSE Results August 2016LPGS GCSE 2013 HR 28_crop

LPGS has again achieved excellent GCSE results this year, with 80% of students gaining 5 or more A* - C including English and Maths. 236 girls took the exams and of these 34% achieved 5 or more grades at A* - A.

26 students achieved 10 or more A* and A grades We are especially pleased with our English results, with 98% of girls achieving A*- C grades and 38% of those at A*/A.

KS4 results will now be judged using a new set of measures which you can see detailed below.




Progress 8


Indicates how well students have progressed from KS2 (primary school) to KS4.

Our score of +0.64 means that on average students were achieving more than half a grade more that might have been expected, based on their performance before joining LPGS.

This places us in the top 5% of schools in the country.

Attainment 8


Indicates how well students have performed across their 8 best subjects (including English and Maths, two sciences, history, geography, a language and 3 other subjects.

The national average for attainment 8  is 48.2

English and Maths


Indicates the number of students who achieve A* - C passes in both Maths and at least one of English Literature and English Language.

The national average for this measure is 59.3

E Bacc


Indicates the number of students who achieve A* - C in Maths, English Literature and Language, Double or Triple Science, History or Geography and a Modern foreign language.

Our results for this measure place us amongst the top state funded schools in the country.



Indicates the number of students who continue in education or training, or move onto employment at the end of 16 to 19 study.


A Level Results 2016

Langley Park School for Girls has achieved an A-level pass rate of 99%, with 48% of its 742 post 16 entries achieving A*-B or equivalent grades. Students performed particularly well in Mathematics, where 59% of 39 entries gained A* -B grades. In Chemistry, nearly half of 27 entries attained A* - B grades. Similar results were achieved in Biology, Economics, Psychology and Media Studies. In English Language and Literature 60% of students gained A* - B grades.

The school’s vocational results are also exceptional, with over 63% of 136 entries scoring distinction and starred distinction grades.

Seven students achieved 3 or more A*/A grades and one girl achieved one and two starred distinctions at BTEC . Two students are going on to Oxbridge and others either to ‘red brick’ universities or exciting careers based on outstanding outcomes in vocational subjects.
