Fantastic results once again for LPGS students

Our 2016 results place us in the top 5% of the country for the new measure of Progress 8 and our 2017 results maintain this high standard. Read more about our achievements in our letter from Nick Gibb, found in the downloads section of this page.

GCSE Results August 2017LPGS GCSE 2013 HR 28_crop

LPGS has again achieved excellent GCSE results this year. Taking the new grade 4 as equivalent to the old 'C' grade, 79% of students gaining 5 or more A* - C including English and Maths. 227 girls took the exams and of these 36% achieved 5 or more grades at A* - A (or 7 to 9 in terms of Maths and English).

26 students achieved 10 or more A* and A grades We are especially pleased with our English results, with 94% of girls achieving grades 9-4, and Science, with 90% of entries achieving A* - C grades in two Sciences and 96% of entries achieving A* - C in three. 

Some individuals achieved amazing results with 15 girls achieving all A*/A and grades 7 - 9. Top of the list was Bethan Adams who achieved 8 A* grades and 3 grade 9s.

Dr Anne Hudson, the school's Headteacher commented: 

'I am extremely proud of the hard work of all of our staff and students. These results, once again, will put LPGS among the top comprehensive schools in the country.’

A Level Results 2017

Langley Park School for Girls is delighted to announce improved A-level and Applied results. From 585 entries, 46% of A-level results are at A*/B and 16% at A*/A. Students performed particularly well in English Literature, where 56% gained A* -B grades. In Economics, nearly half of 31 entries attained A* - B grades. Similar results were achieved in History, Geography, Law, Physics, Psychology, Drama and Travel and Tourism. In Religious Studies, 75% of students gained A* - B grades. The school’s vocational results are also exceptional, with 74% of 95 entries scoring distinction and starred distinction grades.

Ten students achieved 3 or more A*/A grades; two gained 4 A*grades each, and one achieved three starred distinctions at BTEC. We are pleased to share that:

  • 91% achieved their 1st or 2nd choice university place
  • One in four students have places at prestigious Russell Group universities
  • Two students are taking up Oxbridge places
  • Those not attending university have taken up exciting apprenticeships such as Channel 5 and Sky News.
