Fantastic results once again for LPGS students

Provisional analysis shows that Langley Park School for Girls’ results have improved even further this year, despite changes to exams and grading methods. Taking the new grade 4 as equivalent to the old ‘C’ grade, 82% of students gained the equivalent of 5 or more A* - C including English and Maths. 228 girls took the exams and of these 35% achieved 5 or more grades at 7 – 9 or the equivalent of A* - A.

We are especially pleased with our English results, with 93% of girls achieving grades 9-4. In Maths, 86% gained grades 9-4 and in Science 83% of students achieved 9 - 4 in two Sciences. 8 subjects achieved 100% 5+ grades, and 12 achieved 100% 4+.

Some individuals’ results are amazing: 17 girls achieved 8 or more grades at A*/A or 8/9. 5 girls gained a clean sweep of all A*/A or 9/8 grades.

Progress 8

Indicates how well students have progressed from KS2 (primary school) to KS4.


Attainment 8

Measures the achievement of a pupil across 8 qualifications including mathematics, English and at least 3 further qualifications that count in the English Baccalaureate (EBacc).


English and Maths 5- 9

Students who achieved 5 - 9 passes in Maths and at least one of English Literature and English Language.



Indicates the number of students who achieve 5/C in Maths, English Literature and Language, Double or Triple Science, History or Geography and a Modern foreign language.

The percentage of LPGS students entering Ebacc: 72%




Indicates the number of students who continue in education or training, or move onto employment at the end of 16 to 19 study.



A Level Results 2018

We are very pleased with our 2018 A-level and Applied (vocational) results, particularly in the context of more challenging courses and criteria. From 592 A-level entries 96% achieved A* -E grades. 11 students achieved 3 or more A and A* grades. Over 80% of candidates have places at their first choice of university.

Commenting on the results, the school's Headteacher said: "I would like to congratulate our hardworking staff and students on their achievements this year.”

The school’s average point scores for several subjects, including French, German, History and Level 3 BTEC Science are in the top 25% of all Post 16 subjects nationally. The percentage of students achieving A/A* grades is also in the top 25% for French, Further Maths, German, ICT, Religious Studies, Food, Film and PE. Our students continue to achieve outstanding results in creative subjects, particularly Dance and Drama, with 100% A* – C grades.
