GCSE Results

Posted on: August 25th - 2022

Langley Park School for Girls’ staff and students are celebrating the best ever set of GCSE results with extraordinary improvements even upon their last set of public examinations in 2019. 94% of students achieved grade 4 in both English and maths, and 84% at grade 5+ (a massive jump of 16% points from 2019). Nearly 40% of students achieve grade 7 in both English and maths. 63% of students achieve the EBACC at grade 4+, and nearly 50% at 5+. Whilst progress scores will not be confirmed until the Autumn, provisional calculations are also very pleasing.

Outgoing Headteacher, Ms Katie Scott, said, ‘These results are remarkable given the context in which they were achieved. They are testament to how hard both our students and staff worked throughout the pandemic and beyond. We also appreciate the support many of our students received from home. It is remarkable to think that these students were in year 9 when schools first switched to remote learning. At he start of their GCSE courses and throughout year 10, they suffered significant disruption, but their teachers and other staff have worked tirelessly to ensure they were not disadvantaged, and the students themselves showed real resilience. I hope the students take from this that they really can achieve anything they put their minds to’.
