Rottingdean Field Trip July 2013

Year 12 Biology students visited Rottingdean on 1st July to study the zonation of seaweeds on a rocky shore. This is one of the core practicals that has to be completed as part of the Edexcel ‘A’ Level Biology SNAB course.

Students carried out an interrupted belt transect and had an opportunity to do some rock-pooling. No one fell in despite the rocks being very slippery!

The day culminated in a barbeque on the beach of burgers, halloumi cheese and pitta bread. The weather was perfect and everyone enjoyed the day.
