    This week had seen some of the hottest days of the year but with a cooler start to Wednesday the conditions were perfect for the athletes taking part in Sports Day 2018. Expectations were high for Sigma who entered this years competition having won 3 out of the last 4 sports days and taking the double last year (inter-sports and sports day). Could they maintain their winning form or might Gamma who were only 3 points behind last year steal their crown?     Year 10 GCSE Photography Trip

    On Friday 22nd June 2018, 40 Year 10 GCSE Photography students visited the Shape of Light Photography exhibition at Tate Modern. The exhibition looks at how Fine Art and Photography were drawn together during the early 1900s by influential and experimental Photographers who aimed to develop a more Fine Art based approach to Photography. The students will use their experience of the exhibition to aid their important independent research on their new project theme called, Fragments. Click on the image below to find out more.

    The Visual Arts Department was delighted to welcome Alison Lambert to present a talk about her work and career as a Fine Artist to GCSE and A-Level students. Alison has become one of the foremost British figurative artists concentrating mainly on the human head and figure, and has evolved a drawing style that is uniquely her own.   • James Cousins Dance Company

    On Wednesday 2nd May Year 10 GCSE Dance students took part in a workshop with two professional dancers from the James Cousins Dance Company. Students worked tirelessly for three hours perfecting challenging contact work and learning material from the piece "Within her Eyes", by the end of the session they had learnt over two minutes of professional material and had gained many ideas to put into their own pieces.
