Appointment Of New LPGS Headteacher For September 2018

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Katherine Scott as the Headteacher of Langley Park School for Girls from September 2018. Ms Scott will take over from Dr Anne Hudson who retires after a period of distinguished service. Ms Scott already has successful experience as the Headteacher of Portslade Aldridge Community Academy in Brighton where she has transformed provision and outcomes for students, leading Ofsted to comment “The principal has tackled the school’s weaknesses firmly and decisively since her appointment in September 2015. One parent described the principal as ‘brilliant for the school’ (Ofsted 2016).

Throughout the selection process Ms Scott demonstrated huge personal integrity, moral purpose and commitment to providing the highest quality of education to all students. She presented herself as a leader who will value all members of staff, support and challenge them appropriately and ensure they have excellent CPD opportunities. She shared many innovative and creative ideas and a commitment to being an outward looking school leader. We are confident that Ms Scott will compellingly communicate the vision and ambition, as cultivated by Dr Hudson, for Langley Park School for Girls to be a world-class school and lead the whole school community with energy and dynamism to fulfil its ambitions.

Ms Scott has said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to be the next Headteacher of Langley Park School for Girls. I am excited about the journey we are going to go onto together and look forward to working with staff, students and their families to build on the excellent work of Dr Hudson. My ambition for all students is for them to achieve their absolute potential to maximise their life chances and choices through hard work and experiencing the joy of learning.”

We look forward to welcoming Ms Scott to our school community.
