Spanish Exchange to Tenerife

Daily Diary March 2014

Staff have been keeping us up to date with the exchange trip, please click the images at the bottom of the page to enlarge them.

Tuesday 11th March:

We visited the Teide volcano for a walk and learnt about the formation of the islands.

Wednesday 12th March:

We went to the south of the island (Los Cristianos) to see the pilot whales and dolphins and ended up seeing a giant turtle too! Then we explored Los Cristianos and had to order our lunch in Spanish!

Thursday 13th March:

We started the day with some students doing presentations about what they had found out about Spanish Festivals. Then we had great fun at Loro Parque seeing and learning about the wildlife there. Helen even got a kiss from a sea lion! If you look closely, you will see one of us getting splashed by the Killer Whale.

We finished the day with another presentation, this time about food from the Canary Islands.

Friday 14th March:

We spent the day in Cisneros School with our exchange partners where we had to use lots of Spanish in different workshops that the school had prepared for us. For example we wrote dialogues, made posters about our time spent with our partners and we even tried on some typical Canarian dress and danced!

Monday 17th March:

We said our goodbyes and had to leave. Everyone was so sad and there were lots of tears! We stopped in the town of Candelaria on our way to the airport to see the Guanches Statues and listen to our final presentations from the group.

Hasta luego Tenerife!
