Enrichment - Science Club and BA Crest Award

BA Crest Award

Crestr award

Following the success of the Y7 Science Club,  the Science faculty was able to offer some Y8 students the opportunity to complete a BA CREST award at bronze level.

The BA CREST is a nationally recognised and fully accredited science enrichment scheme which is coordinated by the British Science Association and complements the Science curriculum at key stage 3. It is designed to allow young people to explore the real nature of science and technology by doing their own creative problem solving through mini research projects. The projects can be in any area of science and can be chosen by the students themselves (subject to approval by the Science faculty).

Congratulations to Holly Barnes, Jessica Lewis, Chyna Malcolm-Blythe, Sarah Kleist, Abigail Walters, Rebecca Graydon and Florence Rolston-Ashford for achieving the bronze CREST award for their creative science projects of fruit power and fairground rides and to Laura Watson, Hannah Ward, Molly Lambert and Harriet Hartley for achieving the silver award for their project on fizzy drinks.
