We are very keen to form positive and successful partnerships with our parents for the benefit of the child. There will be many and varied opportunities for you to participate in the life of the school.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced, offering a rich, creative and diverse experience. Topic based learning enables our children to embrace numbers and mathematical concepts from an early age as a part of their daily experiences Our children are developing strong critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills.  As the school develops into KS2 there will be an increased focus on subject knowledge, particularly in mathematics, as we work more closely with our professional partners at Langley Park School for Girls (LPGS) and our educational neighbours at Langley Park Boys School (LPSB).

LPP playing in sandWe are delighted to announce that the Secretary of State has signed the Funding Agreement with Langley Park Academies to open Langley Park Primary School in September 2016. Langley Park Primary School is the culmination of a partnership of local schools, Langley Park School for Girls, Langley Park School for Boys, Hawes Down Junior School and Hawes Down Infant School. Together, we aim to offer local parents more choice, and more places, in high quality local schools. Langley Park Primary School will provide a safe, happy environment in which children can excel. We aim to combine traditional values of courtesy, consideration and care with creative and innovative approaches to learning. Our key specialist focus will be on Maths, drawing on the expertise of both Langley schools and the primary schools.

The permanent site for Langley Park Primary School has been confirmed on the land owned by the trust, within meters of facilities offered by the Langley secondary schools. In the meantime, appropriate temporary accommodation has been secured at the Hawes Down Centre in Hawes Lane, BR4 9AE. We are excited that the children starting in September 2016 will therefore be part of the Hawes Down family as well as part of the Langley community. Arrangements will be made to transport the children to this temporary site. We are fortunate in having as our headteacher, Mrs Louise Turner, who recently led a temporary school site involving very young children. We will look to her leadership to ensure that the children thrive at our school from the outset.

Louise has overseen the successful expansion and relocation of a Lewisham primary school, where she was instrumental in driving up standards. Louise is really thrilled about this new role. Secretary of State for Education Authorises Proposals for

Langley Park Primary School

We are pleased to announce that the Secretary of State for Education has authorised the proposed Langley Park Primary School to proceed to the pre-opening phase. Langley Park Primary is due to open in September 2016. This is an exciting development.

With a growing populationlpps Logo of primary school aged children, Beckenham families need more places in high quality local schools. Our school will be open to all local children. Together we will offer local parents more choice and the highest education standards. The school will begin with only 60 children, who will be guaranteed a great deal of individual attention.

Langley Park Primary will combine traditional values of courtesy, consideration and care with creative and innovative approaches to learning. Our key specialist focus will be on Maths. From Year 5 onwards there will be a focus on transition to secondary school.

Langley Park Primary School will be a local school for local children. Applications will be made in accordance with Bromley’s co-ordinated admission arrangements, and will be made on the Common Application Form (CAF) provided and administered by Bromley. Where applications exceed the number of places available, we will give priority to those living closest to the school.

During the months ahead, an appropriate site will need to be found, and we will be advertising for a Headteacher designate. We will also continue to consult with our local community about their needs. Parents of prospective pupils are welcome to register their interests in securing places on our website at

www.langleyparkprimary.org.uk. We will keep you informed as our plans unfold.
